WestConn’s Pota makes it four Little East Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of The Week honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –  Western Connecticut State University freshman attacker Isabella Pota (East Meadow, New York) was named as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time this season, thanks to her outstanding play in the Wolves’ setback against Westfield State and a league victory against Southern Maine on April 3 and 6, respectively. Pota totaled seven goals, three assists and 10 draw controls in the 1-1 week for the Wolves. She had five goals with three helpers, six draw controls and a pair of ground balls in the 19-6 win over the Huskies on Saturday. Pota also scored twice against the Owls. WestConn, coached by Rachael Griffth (1st Season), is 6-5 overall and tied with Eastern Connecticut and Keene State for first place in the LEC with a 2-0 record against conference foes.  The Wolves will visit Worcester State next on Wednesday, April 10 at 5 p.m.
