WestConn Women’s Lacrosse’s Bresnahan and Pota collect LEC weekly awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Western Connecticut State University senior Molly Bresnahan (Noank) was honored as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week and freshman attacker Isabella Pota (East Meadow, New York) received the LEC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award for their outstanding play in the Wolves’ season-opening, 10-9 overtime setback against Coast Guard on Wednesday. Bresnahan recorded 12 saves in the Wolves season-opening 10-9 overtime setback to the United States Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday, giving her a .545 save percentage and 9.30 goals against average for the contest. She also had three ground balls and a caused turnover against the Bears. WestConn, coached by Rachael Griffth (1st Season), will host Smith on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in their next game.
