WCSU announces 2023-24 Theatre Arts season live shows

theatre posters 2023-24DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University announces its Theatre Arts productions for the 2023-24 season, with shows including “Something Rotten!,” “The Crucible,” “The Donkey Show: A Midsummer Night’s Disco” and more. All shows are open to the public and will be presented in WCSU’s Visual and Performing Arts Center, 43 Lake Ave. Extension, Danbury. More information about each production can be found at www.wcsu.edu/theatrearts/events/. The schedule includes:

  • “Something Rotten! A Very New Musical,” the hilarious, blockbuster musical, running Oct. 13 – 22, 2023.
  • “Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches,” Tony Kushner’s revered epic and Tony award winner for Best Play, running Nov. 3 – 12, 2023.
  • “Three Sisters,” a play by Anton Chekhov, running Dec. 1 – 3, 2023.
  • “Next to Normal,” a groundbreaking Pulitzer Prize winning musical, running from Feb. 23 – March 3, 2024.
  • “The Donkey Show: A Midsummer Night’s Disco,” a disco and glitter-filled retelling of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” running from April 5 – 14, 2024.
  • “The Crucible,” the famous play by Arthur Miller, running from April 19 – 28, 2024.
