WCSU Homecoming 2023 on Saturday, October 7: Reserve now for Reunion City and Tailgating Spots

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University will host Homecoming 2023 for alumni of all ages and their families and friends, as well as current students, on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at its Westside campus on 43 Lake Ave. Extension, Danbury. Various reunions, activities, entertainment and athletic events are planned for the day. Additionally, the WCSU Wolf will roam with all for the first time. There will also be tailgating spots available for reservation.

The Alumni Pavilion’s Reunion City will serve as reunion central for the Class of 1973’s 50th Reunion, as well as stations for class-by-decades ’83, ’93, ’03, ’13 and ’23 and for the 1983 Football team, radio station’s WXCI’s 50th reunion, Sigma Chi Fraternity’s 35th reunion and for all past members of the WCSU Women’s Basketball team. A special, free Reunion Continental Breakfast for members of these groups will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the President’s Room 218 in the Westside Classroom Building. Registration is required.

During the day there will be three sporting events open to the public: WCSU Woman’s Volleyball vs. Plymouth State University at noon; Men’s Soccer vs. UMASS Dartmouth at noon and WestConn Football vs. Plymouth State University at 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend; tickets for the football game will be for sale at the stadium. Tailgating spots are available for $35 for a single spot, $45 for a premium spot and  $60 for a double spot; spots must be reserved in advance at www.wcsu.edu/homecoming. Tailgating is available from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Homecoming 2023 also features an abundance of activities, entertainment and food, including food trucks, grilled cheese station and carnival food; live entertainment from DJ Sounds Unlimited and the WCSU Cheerleaders, Dance Club, A Cappella Group and Improv Group and a magician; corn hole, bouncy house, photo booth (including photos with the new Wolf mascot; a caricaturist and face painter; crafts, games, prizes and more.
