Media Arts Film Festival poster2DANBURY, Connecticut — The Western Connecticut State University Media Arts Film Festival returns to the WCSU Midtown campus on Friday, May 12, 2023. In its ninth year, the festival showcases the best student works in from the Media Production, Digital & Interactive Media and Art programs at WCSU.

The May 12 event takes place in the Student Center on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The evening will begin with a 6 p.m. reception and Digital Interactive Media Arts Exhibition in the Student Center lobby, and a 7 p.m. film screening and awards ceremony in the Student Center Theater. The festival is free and open to the public; formal attire is suggested, but not required. There will be refreshments and a cash bar during the reception.

Sponsored by the BEA Student Media Club and WCSU Alumni Association, the event will culminate with awards for best short films, documentaries, news, screenplays, animation, interactive media, soundscapes and music videos. The 18-judge panel includes ten WCSU alumni.
