Third Wolves Day of Giving deemed a success, goal surpassed

Day of Giving 2026DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University launched its third annual Wolves Day of Giving on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, a daylong event that focused on the gift of education. As the 24-hour contribution clock ticked down toward midnight on Feb. 26, one thing became clear: faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, grandparents, supporters and friends took the challenge to contribute seriously. More than $405,511 was donated by 2,273 donors in just one day.

All contributions made during Wolves Day of Giving directly benefit Western Connecticut State University and its students, supporting scholarship programs, enhancing learning through state-of-the-art equipment, strengthening hands-on experiences in academic and training spaces, and investing in opportunities that empower students to achieve success.

Day of Giving 2026 imageLeading many generous donors were Presenting Sponsor Ives Bank, Gold Sponsor Mulvaney Mechanical, and Silver Sponsor NY-CONN Corp. Named and anonymous donors also provided support in several categories.

Fourteen campus departments, programs and organizations were the beneficiaries of Day of Giving contributions. WestConn Athletics topped the leaderboard with $230,718 received from 1,806 donors – many of whom sent messages of support to current or former student-athletes.
