Dr. Jeanine M. Mingé has joined WestConn as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.
She previously worked at SUNY Oneonta, where she served as Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Business, leading 13 academic departments and four simultaneous specialized accreditations (AACSB, NASM, NAST, NASAD). She chaired the university’s Council on High-Impact Practices and led its participation in the AAC&U and AASCU Curriculum to Careers Innovations Institute, developing an experiential learning framework connecting academic programs to career readiness.
Her career spans nearly two decades of leadership across four public university systems. At West Chester University she served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, supporting academic operations. At the University of North Carolina Wilmington she was Associate Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement, leading the university’s community-engagement division and serving on the Provost Council, and Executive Director of the Office of the Arts, where she directed public programming and led the university’s successful bid for the APLU Innovation and Economic Prosperity designation. Earlier, at California State University, Northridge, she led community engagement, chairing the committee that earned the university its Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, and directed a decade-long social justice performance ensemble.
A full professor, Mingé holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of South Florida and is completing an MBA in Finance and Management at UMass Lowell. She is the author of two books and more than 10 peer-reviewed articles that together form a coherent body of work on equity, community, and human dignity. She was selected for the 2026–2027 AASCU Becoming a Provost Academy.
